Introducing the GC3e

Published

The GC3e system features an updated, easier to use interface on its 7” touchscreen in addition to best-in-class front-firing speakers and voice quality for worry-free calls with monitoring services and emergency services. The GC3 also includes an onboard demo and promo videos to keep users in-the-know, a screen saver mode with slideshows that displays favorite images when alerts and alarms are cleared, and an elegant new look that blends in with any environment. It is compatible with encrypted sensors and supports all traditional 2GIG sensors and other legacy 345 sensors for easy system upgrades.

Additionally, the new GC3e exclusively includes the 2GIG Smart Areas™ feature, functionality that makes it easier than ever to set up ‘zone groups’ in homes. Smart Areas enable greater personalization and functionality for the end user while simplifying installation for the installer.

Compatible with encrypted and traditional 2GIG sensors.

eSensors include: Standard D/W Sensor, Motion Sensor, Glass Break Sensor, Key Fob Sensor, Recessed D/W Sensor, and CO Detector Sensor. More coming soon!

Does this version still program like your old 2GiG or is it more like Qolsys?

Hi Dean!
Thank you for your question. The GC3e is easier to program than both the GC2 or Qolsys units.

IS there now an smartphone app allowing control of system without use of Alarm.com for on site ?

Hi Augie!

Unfortunately, no there is not a stand-alone app to control your system. To control your 2GIG system remotely/via a smart device you need the monitoring service's app. At this time Alarm.com is the only compatible app for the GC3e

Can you mute the audible signals that come with loss of communication? You can't on the GC2

No, you cannot mute the audible signals for loss of communication. Once the trouble occurs and the audible beeps start, it can be silenced by viewing the alert message which acknowledges the trouble.

Is the new GC3e compatible with the original 2Gig TS1 secondary panel?
Anonymous

The GC3e has its own keypads, SP1 & SP2, which are not campatiable with TS1. The TS1 is compatible with GC2 and GC2e if the XCVR is changed.

Does the control panel communicate to app etc via wifi or ethernet, or is cellular the only option for app connectivity.

Hi J Smith!

Yes, if the WiFi or ethernet allows for dual-path communication. Ethernet does require an optional module. If connected, broadband works as the primary communication path and the cell radio is the backup.

I currently have the security panel, 2Gig GoControl, which does not support silent arming from the alarm.com app or website. Does the GC3e have the same limitation?

Hi Groovy!

Yes, that is correct. You can select silent arming when arming from the panel, but you cannot set silent arming when arming from the alarm.com website or app.

I’m going to add this panel in SmartThings. If I have the panel setup to open/close the garage door will it allow that to show in SmartThings? This hub comes with my home and I already have a lot of SmartThings products and hub.

Will this system work with the att digital life sensors and equipment?

Hi Chris!

Unfortunately, this is not a simple answer. There are multiple versions of Digital Life sensors, some of which don't operate on the same frequency as the GC3e panel whcich means they are not compatible. We also do not have a translator available for the GC3e. As to the 365 sensors, they also have multiple versions available and we are not sure if any are compatible.

Can the GC3 panel be fully functional via IP path alone? Also is there an additional module necessary to connect to the a wifi system?

I have a GC3 system that looses communication with the secondary panels; I have excellent WiFi coverage, tried to connect everything via a separate SSID and replaced the secondary panels to no avail. Will replacing the GC3 with a GC3e resolve this?
